Lessons learned from a wedding shoot

Audio: Make sure to always mic the groom and the officiant.

Dancing: when shooting lots of people dancing and you're shooting the wedding with a DSLR, always shoot with a wide angle lens. I shot people dancing with a 14mm on a Canon 7D and this helped me capture the whole dance floor.

Focus: Obviously focus on the bride and groom when they are on the dance floor, but don't forget important individuals such as the parents, also capture general shots of friends dancing.

Testimonials: It's a nice touch when you can get "well wishes" from individuals that are close to the bride and groom. I usually pick individual on the the train, such as the best man and chief brides maid etc. You can also pick family members. A good number of testimonials to get are 6 individuals, 3 men and 3 women.
